NCF IN COLLABORATION WITH EKITI STATE CRICKET ASSOCIATION SUCCESSFULLY ORGANISED PRIMARY SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR SOUTH WEST

The Nigeria Cricket Federation in collaboration with the Ekiti State Cricket Association successfully organized the first edition of the NCF Primary School championship in South-West. This event took place on the 11th and 12th August 2016 in Ado- Ekiti with Christ School boys and girls playing host.

Following the mass participation/grassroot  introduction to Cricket program organized in August 2015, the primary school championship became necessary to provide the kids with competition.

GAME 1   St Matthias vs Emmanuel

St Matthias won the toss and elected to field sending in Emmanuel School to bat. Emmanuel school scored a total of 34 runs in 5 overs for the oss of 3 wickets.

In the second innings, St Matthias chased down the total and scored 36 runs in 4 overs for no loss.

St Matthias won by 10 wickets.

GAME 2   Harding vs St Andrew Schools

Harding won the toss and elected to field sending St Andrew in to bat. St Andrew scored a total of 28 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 5 overs.

In the second innings, Harding chased down the score recording a total of 31 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 4.3 overs

Harding won by 9 wickets.

GAME 3   Holy Trinity vs St Matthias schools

St Matthias won the toss and elected to field sending in Holy trinity to bat. Holy Trinity scored a total of 38 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 5 overs.

In the second innings, St Matthias chased and scored a total of 39 runs for the loss 1 wicket in 4 overs

GAME 4   Holy Trinity vs Emmanuel Schools

Emmanuel school won the toss and elected to bat scoring a total of 23 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 5 overs.

In the second innings, Holy Trinity came in to chase down the score recording a total of 24 runs for no loss in 3.4 overs

St Andrew won the toss and elected to field sending in Holy trinity to bat. Holy Trinity scored a total of 23 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 5 overs.

In the second innings, St Andrew could only manage a total of 21 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 5 overs.

Holy Trinity won by 2 runs to be crowned 3rd place winners.

 

FINAL MATCH   St Matthias vs Harding Memorial 

Harding won the toss and elected to field sending in St Matthias to bat. St Matthias scored a total of 51 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 5 overs.

In the second innings, Harding Memorial put up a strong chase but could only manage a total of 44 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 5 overs.
